Feature requests

Missing something? Ask for it.

Suggestions go straight to the person who builds ZestSSH. Send one from the app in a minute, or bring it to the Discord, where everyone can see it, add to it and react.

Two ways

From the app, or in the Discord.

In the app: Suggest a feature

  1. On a computer, select ? in the title bar. On a phone or tablet, open More and choose Get help.
  2. Choose Suggest a feature, give it a title, say what you want and, if you like, why.
  3. Pick a category if one fits (UI/UX, New feature or Quality of life) and select Send.

It is posted in the ZestSSH Discord, anonymous unless you add your Discord name, and it becomes a ticket under My tickets, where the answers reach you in the app.

How Getting help works

In the Discord

The ZestSSH Discord is where releases are announced and where suggestions from the app land. Post your idea, see what others asked for, and add your reasons to theirs: a request with many voices behind it is easier to weigh.

No Discord account? The form in the app works without one, and without signing in to ZestSSH.

What is sent

Your words, and six facts you see first.

A suggestion from the app carries what you typed and six facts, shown under See exactly what will be sent before anything leaves your device. No logs, no host list, no settings.

A good request

What helps an idea get built.

  1. The problem first

What are you trying to do, and what gets in the way today?

  2. How you work now

The workaround you use, the other tool you switch to, the steps you repeat.

  3. Where it matters

Phone, tablet or computer, and which system: a feature can differ between them.

  4. One idea each

Two ideas in one post are hard to discuss and to answer. Send two.

Every suggestion is read. What ships is listed in the changelog with each release. Found a bug instead? Use Report a bug in the same panel, or see support.
