No. ZestSSH works fully on a single device with no account and no cloud. Sync is entirely optional, it exists only to carry your connections, keys, and snippets to your other devices. If you use one device, you can ignore sync completely and nothing is missing.
No. When you do want sync, it's free on any storage you run yourself: WebDAV, an S3-compatible bucket, Google Drive, or a self-hosted ZestSSH server. Recovery keys and automatic backups are free too. Juiced ($24.99) is only for when you'd rather use our hosted ZestSSH Cloud store instead of running your own.

Yes. Juiced is an independent purchase. Add it to the Free tier to use the hosted ZestSSH Cloud store, or add it to Squeezed for the full experience. Buying Squeezed and Juiced together is $29.99, a $4.99 saving over buying them separately.

Zero-knowledge means we mathematically cannot read your data. Your information is encrypted on your device using your master password before it reaches any storage backend. We store only encrypted blobs. Even if our servers were compromised, your data would remain unreadable. The same encryption applies whether you sync to your own backend or to the hosted store.
Your purchases are tied to your Google Play or Apple ID account. Install ZestSSH on your new device and tap "Restore Purchases" in Settings. Your Squeezed and Juiced access will be restored automatically.
